The Oleta Trail Run race number two of ten was held inside the beautiful Oleta River State Park in North Miami Beach. The race consisted of a 5K, 10k, and Half Marathon trial run and was open to athletes of all ages and skill levels. It offered participants an exciting and challenging single & double track off-road running experience with the terrain consisting of rolling hills, high climbs, tree roots, loose gravel, logs and concrete. Although the race is very similar to the one at Amelia Earhart Park the trails in Oleta are more intense and are not for those timid about getting dirty or possibly injured. There were many families partaking in Memorial Day festivities at the other side of the park and you could literally smell & taste the food from a mile away but that did not deter the race participants from focusing on finishing the race. Everyone was excited about the remainder of the holiday weekend ahead and was pleased to find a healthy beverage that they could incorporate into their weekend of fun.
