Thermogenic Scientific Studies

Seven scientific studies have been conducted on Celsius by U.S. accredited scientific research facilities according to strict scientific standards. To ensure consumer confidence, trust, and industry independence, the studies were presented at scientific conferences and published for peer review.

Celsius Has Thermogenic Properties

All of the clinical studies show that Celsius has thermogenic properties. Thermogenics are substances that increases metabolism and push the nervous system to be more active. This speeds up body functions such as heart rate and breath rate. In turn this causes you to burn more calories than you normally would. The increase in metabolism from thermogenics results in the body burning fat as fuel.

The scientific studies were conducted on the Celsius product as a whole, not just the ingredients contained in Celsius. This is an important distinction. The multiple studies show that drinking Celsius results in burning calories and providing lasting energy. When drinking a great tasting Celsius before exercise, Celsius reduces body fat, increases endurance and provides greater resistance to fatigue (increased energy).* Even better, Celsius has evidence of many consumers that have gotten real results. No Bake Protein Power Ball Recipe

Finding a healthy snack in the store can be difficult at times. When reading the front of a box, the company may claim that their snack is a healthy alternative for snacking. Then you flip the box around and read the ingredients and find a mile long list of ingredients that you cannot pronounce. One of my clean eating mantras is, “If you cannot pronounce it, you may not want to eat it.” While you may find some healthy snacks in the store, many of them are not high protein options. Rather than looking for the holy grail of healthy snacks in the organic section, I decided to take matters into my own hands and create my own high protein snack: No Bake Protein Power Ball. This healthy snack is simple to make and can be enjoyed by the whole family. Below I have listed the ingredients and directions for this high protein snack. This is a great way to treat yourself without going overboard on calories and unhealthy highly processed junk.

Ingredients:

½ cup dried cherries, cranberries and apples
½ cup walnuts and cashews
1 ½ scoop vanilla protein
1 tbsp organic peanut butter
1 tbsp honey
1 tbsp of water
1/3 cup uncooked oatmeal

Directions:

Place dried fruit, protein powder, peanut butter and honey at the bottom of your food processor. Close the lid and only use the pulse setting about five times for one second blasts. This will ensure that the protein balls stay chunky and chewy. Add in only one tablespoon of water and the nuts and oatmeal. Then hit the pulse button a few more times. Everything should appear lightly combined and still thick. Do not use more water than initially recommended or the dough will become too runny and will not bind together.  You want the dough to remain fairly dry so it will stick. The peanut butter and honey work as binding agents in the recipe. If the texture is too runny you will need to add just a pinch of oatmeal and peanut butter to bind all the ingredients back together. Once everything is properly mixed, take a tablespoon spoon and scoop out a serving of the mixture. Place the mix in your hand and shape it into a tight ball. Place the ball in an airtight container and repeat until you have shaped all of the mixture into single serving balls.

Cooking time:

This recipe takes only 10 min from start to finish and is easy clean up. In order to make more protein power balls, just double or triple the amount of ingredients in order to make the amount of protein balls you need. Place the balls into an airtight container and store on the counter or in the fridge to last a little while longer. The protein power balls will stay fresh for a week.

Turn Your Burn On

Are you looking for some inspiring and fun ways to exercise? We’ve got’ ya covered. Turn your exercise burn on with help from our industry experts. Tone your muscles, stay fit, trim and feeling good!

Pro Tips on How to Switch Up Your Workout

It’s easy to fall into a gym rut- treadmill, weights, abs, repeat- but, if your workout routine is starting to sound like the directions on the back of a shampoo bottle, you may want to think about switching it up.

Simone De La Rue, celebrity trainer who works with stars like Sandra Bullock, Naomi Watts, and Anne Hathaway, changes up her and her client’s routines every day.

“Your body along with your mind gets used to doing the same exercises and becomes lazy,” De La Rue said. “I try to vary my clients workouts everyday so they feel challenged and inspired.”

And if you really want to get results, it’s not just about doing something different, it’s about doing something you enjoy.

"Variety is the spice your fitness plan needs in order to be sustainable and palatable,” France Marien, group fitness instructor and owner of Remix Workouts in Seattle, said. “You will keep moving if the activities you choose are enjoyable and bring you a sense of accomplishment.”

Diana Antholis, a healthy lifestyle coach and personal trainer, agreed. “Exercise is supposed to be fun, so if you find that you are dreading doing physical activity, it's time to try something new,” Antholis said.

So, what should you try?

De La Rue’s favorite out-of - the - gym workout is dancing. De La Rue says that dance is the best way to get her cardio in and doesn’t even call her 45 minute, non- stop dance classes a workout because “it’s far too much fun!”

If you want to follow in De La Rue’s dancing footsteps, ditch the gym for a day and take a dance class at a local dance studio instead. Don’t know where to start? Try belly dancing!

“Belly dancing is a strong workout for your hips, abs, and arms,” Antholis said.

And while the physical benefits of belly dancing - exhibit A: Shakira - are enough to sell most women on the workout, belly dancing can have empowering psychological effects as well.

“Belly dancing awakens a women's sensual side, making her have more confidence and feel sexy,” Antholis said. “The hip movements and gracefulness bring tons of feminine energy.” Who couldn’t use a little confidence boost during their workout?

When you’re really tired of the gym, or the dance studio, try an activity you can do outdoors, like hiking.

“Hiking is a perfect way to combine cardio, resistance, and balance; and walking on an uneven surface shapes your legs delightfully,” Syd Hoffman, a health and wellness author and educator, said.

Like belly dancing, hiking can give you the immediate satisfaction and sense of accomplishment when you finally get to the top of the hill or finish the trail.

But if neither of these activities appeal to you, don’t force it. Experts agree that the important thing is to stay active and to do something you enjoy.

“I always say, it’s not so important what you do, but that you do it...go for a long walk on the beach, a hike in the mountains, or swim in the ocean,” De La Rue said. “Just do something!”

Honoring Our Heroes Together

Honoring Our Heroes

At Celsius, we rarely let a holiday  go by – especially not a long weekend, without honoring it in some way. Often, we will celebrate with special health and fitness content on our Live Healthy Community blog, or we run great holiday specials for our online community. Gearing up for Memorial Day 2013, we wanted to do something different. As a team, we had to pause to recognize the very special place that Memorial Day has in America. We are inspired daily by the heroic sacrifice of our armed service personnel. To celebrate and honor our heroes this Memorial Day, we decided to simply ask our online community to tell us about their loved ones and friends who sacrificed their own comfort, safety, and sometimes their very lives to keep Americans safe and free.

Heroes SaluteIn addition, a portion of proceeds from our sales in the days following the holiday weekend will be donated to various veterans’ organizations. In light of all that they and their families have done for us, it seems like the least we can do to honor these heroes. As you plan your (healthy!) cookout and family activities for the upcoming weekend, we invite you to take a few moments to share your photos in our Honoring Our Heroes section on our Facebook page. Maybe you will also be inspired to make a gift in honor of your family member or friend, or just in honor of all of the brave Americans we are thankful for. While there are many fabulous organizations doing great work, we have gathered a short list of organizations you may consider.

National Volunteer Fire CouncilNational Volunteer Fire CouncilNational Volunteer Fire Council

It has been difficult for many to view the images of devastation following the tornadoes that have hit Oklahoma. In addition to the devastation, we have seen remarkable images of hope and courage as well as pure heroics in the first responders who were on the scene within minutes and are still working tirelessly to find survivors, reconnect families, and support the citizens of Moore, Oklahoma and the surrounding areas. This is how American communities respond to tragedy. These firefighters, police and supporting personnel are our heroes as well.

The National Volunteer Fire Council is a national campaign to help recruit both first responders and support (Fire Corps) volunteers in the fire and emergency medical services. Visit their site if you would like to become a volunteer in the emergency services or find out more about the 1-800-FIRE-LINE program.
